need test knitters!
Just finished this bag, right before I lost the good natural light outside. This bag was knitted with Patagonia cotton by Araucania Yarns on size 9 needles, and I used 4 hanks of color 207 (yellow ochre) and 1 hank of 205 (green). This design features a base of heel stitch, two allover lattice cable panels and two opposite heel stitch panels--then to finish off two straps with leaves on each end and a button closure with a crochet chain loop. I'm going to write the pattern up for sale, but need 3-5 test knitters. If you would be willing to knit this in relatively short order and want more details on getting the pattern free on a 'beta-test' basis, e-mail me! xoxo Brooks

any knittin' bein' done over here?
Lookie, another FO! Have I ever mentioned how much I love knitting socks? Especially in the self-striping yarns? I'd love to know: how many of you a) love to knit socks, b) have tried and would love to, if only _________ c) want to learn how, or d) are sick of the sock knitting craze? I'm working on a sock knitting book and want to cover all the basics and 'de-mystify' the sock knitting process.
I heart xm
xm satellite radio is awesome! I have discovered that (so far) my favorite channel is Luna, the latin jazz channel. I also enjoy Sonic Theatre, especially Sherlock Holmes! And a note for Geraldine, who left a comment the other day: having been born in 1966, I do have fuzzy childhood memories of many, many sixties songs, and discovered most of the rock from the sixties in high school. The sixties is definitely my favorite 'rock' era, although the seventies brought us Led Zeppelin, right? Which reminds me: did any of you know that my husband sings in a Led Zeppelin tribute band? Roll on over to the LedNeck website (designed by yours truly) and let me know what you think. xoxo Brooks
knitting podcast
Hey out there: check out my new favorite thing: the (so far) first podcast about knitting...
KnitCast! This is like a little radio show about knitting. There are eight episodes so far, including interviews with
Pam Allen,
Kristine Kirby Webster,
Stephanie Japel and
Wendy Johnson. I love hearing what the movers and shakers in the knitblog world sound like! See if you agree.

I ordered xm satellite radio last night--my receiver should be here Friday or Monday. Do any of you out there have it, and if so, what do you love/hate/tolerate about it? Until there is a 24-hour knitting channel, I'll be listening to channels 70, 95, 176, 191, and possibly a little of 151. What are your favorite channels? xoxo Brooks
